About KPRS

An engineering-first IT services firm, built deliberately.

KPRS was founded to deliver technology services the way senior engineers wished they could buy them: with clear written plans, proven platforms, disciplined delivery, and a transparent handover at the end.

We are a small, deliberately focused team of senior engineers and delivery leads, based in London, Ontario. We work directly with each client — no sub-contracting, no selling capacity we do not have.

Our practices are organised around six engineering disciplines. Each is led by a practitioner with deep hands-on experience in the domain, and the engineer on your engagement is the engineer writing the code.

Operating principles

Four commitments we do not dilute.

These principles shape how we scope engagements, who we assign, and how we deliver. They are the reason we sometimes decline profitable work that would compromise them.

Principle A

Senior engineers on every engagement

No pyramids. The engineer on your call is the engineer writing the code. We stay small on purpose so this stays true — and so accountability cannot hide behind headcount.

Principle B

Documented decisions, not meeting notes

Every architectural decision of consequence is recorded in writing alongside the code it governs. You get clarity on the trade-offs we have made, and a record you can audit long after the project closes.

Principle C

Proven technology, chosen deliberately

We default to mature, widely-supported platforms with strong operational track records. New tooling earns its way in only after a technical case against the incumbent is made and documented.

Principle D

Operable from day one

Observability, runbooks, CI/CD, and a rollback strategy are delivered with the first production release — not as a phase-two uplift. If it cannot be safely operated by a modest team, it is not complete.

How we differ

What sets us apart.

Most IT services firms optimise for scale. We optimise for outcomes that survive beyond the engagement.

01 Differentiator

Written discovery, every time

Every engagement begins with a written assessment of your problem, constraints, and options — not a slide deck. You can take it to any other vendor for a second opinion. We encourage it.

02 Differentiator

Outcome-based SLAs

Managed services are priced against measurable outcomes — uptime, mean-time-to-recovery, incident counts — not ticket volumes. Our incentives and yours stay aligned.

03 Differentiator

Clean handover as a deliverable

A named senior engineer runs your system for one week using only the documentation we have produced. Anything they cannot figure out, we fix before we leave.

04 Differentiator

No lock-in architecture

We build on open standards and widely-supported platforms. You can move away from us — to another firm or in-house — without rewriting the system. That is a feature, not a risk.

A paid two-week discovery is usually the cheapest way to evaluate us. You receive a written plan; you decide what happens next.
