K KPRS
Engineering-first IT services

Software, cloud, and data systems — built to last.

KPRS is a small, senior IT services team based in London, Ontario. We design, deliver, and operate enterprise software, cloud platforms, data systems, and secure infrastructure — and hand them back to your team with the documentation and runbooks to keep them running.

Our services

Six engineering practices. One delivery bar.

Our capabilities are organised into six focused practices. Each is led by a senior practitioner and delivered by hands-on engineers — no pyramids, no sub-contracting.

01

Enterprise Software

Long-lived line-of-business systems — CRMs, ERPs, workflow engines, and back-office portals — engineered to be maintained for a decade, not replaced every few years.

  • Greenfield line-of-business systems
  • Legacy modernisation & strangler migrations
  • System integration & event architecture
  • Engineering team embedding

02

Cloud & DevOps

AWS, Azure, and GCP foundations delivered with SRE discipline — landing zones, migrations, CI/CD, and platform engineering that your team can actually operate.

  • Cloud landing zones & foundations
  • Migration strategy & execution
  • Platform engineering & internal developer platforms
  • SRE, observability & incident response

03

Data & Analytics

Data platforms, pipelines, and decision support built around the questions your business actually needs to answer — with explicit ownership and measurable quality.

  • Data warehouse & lakehouse design
  • Reliable ingestion & pipeline engineering
  • Analytics, BI & semantic layers
  • ML delivery, monitoring & MLOps

04

Cybersecurity & Compliance

Security delivered as engineering practice — threat modelling, secure architecture, identity, and audit-ready controls mapped to the regulations your business operates under.

  • Threat modelling & secure architecture
  • Identity & access management
  • Compliance programmes (ISO, SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI)
  • Security operations & incident response

Managed IT Services

Day-two operations run by engineers, not script-readers — 24×7 monitoring, patching, L2/L3 support, and continuous improvement priced on outcomes you can measure.

  • 24×7 monitoring & incident response
  • Patching, maintenance & compliance reporting
  • L2 / L3 application support
  • Continuous improvement & root-cause engineering

Digital Product Engineering

Customer-facing web, mobile, and API products delivered through disciplined discovery, design, build, and measure loops — with performance and accessibility built in.

  • Product discovery & validation
  • Web & mobile engineering
  • API & backend for products
  • Design systems & content platforms

How we work

A short loop, repeated honestly.

We do not sell methodology. We sell shipping. Our loop is deliberately small: understand deeply, shape decisions on paper, deliver vertical slices, and keep running it. The writing is not decoration — it is how we stay honest.

01 Week 0

Discover

A short, paid discovery. We interview your people, read your code and runbooks, and return a written plan — problem, approach, risks, and a realistic estimate.

02 Week 1–2

Shape

Architectural shaping with a senior engineer. Decisions get recorded. Trade-offs get named. You get something you can argue with before we start building.

03 Week 2+

Deliver

Small, vertical increments of working software every week. CI from day one. Written notes on what we shipped, what slipped, and why.

04 Ongoing

Operate

If you want us to run it too, we do: monitoring, patching, SLAs, and an on-call roster that actually answers.

Common questions

Things people ask before calling.

If your question is not here, ask it directly. We would rather have the conversation than pretend our FAQ is exhaustive.

01 Do you work time-and-materials or fixed-price?

Both, depending on the shape of the problem. Discovery and well-defined deliveries can be fixed-price. Longer multi-year platform work is usually time-and-materials with a transparent monthly cap. We will tell you which fits before you sign anything.

02 Can you work with our existing engineering team?

Yes — that is a large part of what we do. We embed alongside in-house teams, take on specific streams, and transfer what we build. A clean handover is an explicit deliverable on every engagement.

03 What about data residency and compliance?

We design and operate systems with compliance in mind from day one, and are familiar with regimes such as PIPEDA, HIPAA, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, EU GDPR, and the UK Data Protection Act. Tell us the regime you operate under and we will map the controls to it before writing any code.

04 How small an engagement will you take?

Our smallest engagements are 2–3 week written discoveries — a senior engineer, a written plan, and an estimate you can take to anyone. No minimum retainer to start talking.

05 Where are your engineers based?

We are headquartered in London, Ontario, Canada, with a distributed team across North America and delivery partners in the United Kingdom. We run a writing-first culture that keeps documented decisions and asynchronous collaboration central to every engagement.
